Warning lights

What does the warning light mean?

I get a warning light on the facia of my VW Golf when I connect up to my Elddis caravan, suggesting that one of the caravan lights isn’t working. They all were, so what’s the problem?
Name not given, by email

MIKE SAYS
The problem may lie with a car on 13 pin electrics and a caravan using 12n and 12S plugs. There might also be an incompatability problem because later cars and caravans use a slightly changed wiring system. Also, what does the car handbook say about warning light? It may be that the fog lights are disconnected.
